Project Portfolio Nytt Sykehus Drammen

Helse Sør-East RHF and Vestre Viken HF are in the process of building a new hospital in Drammen, which will be commissioned in 2025. The new hospital on Brakerøya will replace the current Drammen hospital and Blakstad hospital. There will be integrated premises for somatics, mental healthcare and interdisciplinary specialized drug treatment.

PE in this project, offered their expertise in BIM coordination for one of the main ventilation contractors. PE consultants used their knowledge on the tools like StreamBIM and dRofus to visualize all the different disciplines and understand how they are interconnected.

With StreamBIM, we had the opportunity for each device to tackle the big and complex BIM models based on openBIM and IFC. Using StreamBIM we were able to hand over quality assured technical documentation, we shared and discussed issues and workflows within the groups, assigned tasks the project team, automated quantity takeoffs.

On the other hand, with dRofus we had the opportunity to a unique data management and BIM collaboration tool that provided all stakeholders with extensive workflow support and access to building information throughout all of the steps of the project life.

Project Portfolio Verkstedhallen

Carls Verkstedhall workshop hall was built in 1899 in brick with an area of approx. 3000 square meters. There was production in the workshop hall right up until the 1990s.

Now the building will be transformed, the idea is that the building will consist of 50% catering and 50 % event premises, which can also be rented out.

PE consultants have calculated, designed and modeled the ventilation system of the building, making sure of maintaining a good standard in terms of indoor air quality.

An important duty for PE, is always to behand the project design with the outmost care and making sure when the project is delivered, it is fulfilling every each of the TEK-17 requirements, and for this reason the whole ventilation system is designed using BIM (Building Information Modeling) software, ensuring that every step of project design goes as smooth as possible.

The ventilation system in Verkstedhall consists of two individual Air Handling Units (AHU’s), that supply the whole building. With this ventilation system the occupants in the building will be able to enjoy a good indoor air quality that is essential for having a great time at their favorite place.

Project Portfolio Tveita Skole

Tveita School is a primary and lower secondary school located in the Tveita neighborhood of Oslo, Norway. The school was established in 1972 and serves students from first to tenth grade.

We are proud to have contributed as ventilation consultants for the renovation process of Tveita School in Oslo, using Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology. Our role is to ensure that the school’s indoor air quality is of the highest standard possible, as poor indoor air quality can have a negative impact on the health and well-being of students and staff.

As part of the renovation process for Tveita School in Oslo, four existing system air handling units (AHU) are going to be reused. The air calculation was carefully made to ensure that the existing system AHU’s can still be used. This decision will result in cost savings for the school and will also help to reduce waste.

However, a new system is also going to be installed as part of the renovation process. This new system will be installed in one part of Building A and will be designed to meet the specific ventilation needs of that part of the building. The installation of this new system will ensure that the area has an efficient and effective ventilation system that meets all relevant regulations and standards. As ventilation consultants for the renovation process, we have played a critical role in ensuring that the existing system AHU’s are suitable for reuse and that the new system is properly designed and integrated with the overall ventilation system of the school.

Using BIM technology, we were able to create a detailed digital model of the school’s ventilation system, which allowed us to visualize and analyze the system in 3D. This enabled us to identify potential issues and make necessary adjustments to the system prior to construction, resulting in a more efficient and effective ventilation system.Throughout the renovation process, we worked closely with the architects and contractors to ensure that the ventilation system was properly integrated with the overall design of the building and met all relevant regulations and standards.

Project Portfolio Nyegaardskvartalet

Nyegaardskvartalet is located on in Oslo, with proximity to the city and countryside. The building complex consists of three individual buildings, where building 1 has three towers, connected up to the 5th floor, and on top of this, the three towers extend separately another five floors towards the blue. Building 2 and 3 are five-storey high, and are in line with each other.

The quarter will consist of 250 bright, easy-care, functional and environmentally friendly apartments, with safe access from the quarter garden. Here, there are also cafés and some other business activities on the ground floor, these with entrance from the street.

PE consultants have calculated, designed and modeled the ventilation system of all of the buildings, making sure of maintaining a good standard in terms of indoor air quality. Indoor Air quality is with outmost importance for the residents that live in Nygaardskvartalet, and PE consultants made sure that the design of the ventilation system fulfills IAQ standards, ensuring that every home is a safe environment.

The ventilation system in Nyegaardskvartalet consists of three individual Air Handling Units (AHU’s), of which two AHU’s supply the whole building 1, and the other AHU supplies with fresh treated air building 2 & 3.

The use of balanced ventilation in all of the apartments of the buildings is set to improve indoor climate and reduce energy use for heating. The duct ventilation layout of the whole systems is composed of intake air ducts that extract fresh air from the outside environment, supply air ducts that supply fresh treated air to the apartments and exhaust system ducts that remove extract air from the apartments.
